Like we told, the main character is Lucy, a high school girl with straight A’s and a talent for singing. She is living with her father in a small town in Georgia and more than anything she would love to find her mother and meet her. As the biggest meanie in school says in the movie, the only flaws that she possesses are that she is “sweet, proper and nerdy” – and a virgin at that! After the graduation the three girls decide to venture off together on a road trip so that Lucy could find her mother at last and so that they would get their coming of age rites done, somewhat similar to Thelma and Louise. On the road they will meet Ben, a guy who seems to have a shady past but will prove to be a decent fellow and make Lucy love him and see that she has actually been looking for him and not something else.

As you can see for yourself, the story is somewhat of a cliché but if you are a fan of Britney then you are going to watch it no matter what. The film has its ups and downs but it can’t be considered bad. It tells an interesting story about girls who are turning into women and gives a few nice pointers and lessons to girls that are not certain of some things (for instance, whether or not to say “no” in some moments). There is also a decent amount of music in the movie as, after all, Britney Spears is playing the main role and it would be pretty disappointing if she didn’t sing a song or two so you are going to get a treat on that side as well.

Taking everything into account, Crossroads is not an Academy Award material but it still has something to offer, especially to those who really like Britney Spears. The critics might not have been gentle with it but that doesn’t mean that you should entirely avoid watching it. As always, it is the best to take a look at it and see what you think for yourself. And if you love Britney as much as we do then there is no doubt that you are going to like Crossroads as well. If nothing else, it is a great way to spend an evening.

When you begin to tell her story using the pictures of her life, you have to start from the beginning and take a look at the young school girl that she was in the start of her career. She was aiming for that innocent look that made lots of young people take her up as their idol but there was also something very seductive about her at that time. Battling in court for custody over their children was probably what made Britney fall so low. Aside from spending time in the courtroom, she started partying with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan which brought just more problems to her. As you already know, Britney Spears is an artist that falls into the category of best selling – of all time. When you take into account that she has sold more than 83 million of records all over the world, things that you are going to hear here will not sound so surprising. If you haven’t known, “(Hit Me Baby) One More Time” was her first single and it reached the Billboard Top 100 list. Not just the list but the top of it. For two weeks in a row. That is not something that happens easily with other artists, you must admit.

Since her success was so explosive, and her first single managed to reach platinum numbers fourteen times, Billboard Music Awards decided to give her a tour as a present. Mind you, this was only the beginning of her musical career and the best things were still waiting to happen. American Music Awards followed soon and she was recognized as the Favorite New Artist in the Pop/Rock category which was another huge success for her. Second album titled “Oops I Did It Again” followed soon and brought more success. In the first week almost a million and a half records were sold. This was another step towards her planetary success that made her a megastar that she is today.

An interesting fact about her is that she is actually the reason why clothing companies started making clothes that expose navels. This was a trend started by none other than Britney and it spread all over the globe like a wildfire. Even Madonna claimed that she took the look from Spears and sported it from time to time. Aside from all that, she is a giver as she supports several charity causes and has her own foundation as well.

When you take a look at that biography which is more than impressive, you can see that she has had her ups and downs but managed to stay on top and show that she is a worthy performer and an artist. Britney has been an idol to many teenagers all over the world and she will surely continue to be, regardless of the bad talk that goes around from time to time. We are anxious to see more of her in the future as we know that her music and her work are going to be as good as they always were.
